Employee of The Month - Lemuel Rolle

Lemuel “Pete” Rolle plays a significant role in BAMSI’s Facilities Department.  His supervisor describes him as being an exceptional employee, someone who displays great team leadership skills and who selflessly goes beyond the call of duty.  Mr. Rolle not only strives to be a better employee each day, but also encourages his co-workers to aspire to do the same. And, he has not missed a day from work for the month.

Upon learning that he was named ‘Employee of the Month’ for January, Mr. Rolle expressed gratitude for the opportunities afforded him to gain new skills and to develop himself both from a professional and personal perspective. He said also that he looks forward to many years of continuous, dedicated and productive service at BAMSI.

“I have enjoyed working with my hands all my life and working at BAMSI has given me a wealth of experience in team work. I realized that whether it’s weed whacking, mowing, cutting and trimming trees or placing sand bags in preparation for an approaching storm, painting the buildings, patching pot holes, assisting with minor repairs or cleaning the buses and vehicles, when you work as a cohesive team the job is done on schedule and with pride,” Mr. Rolle said. As part of the honour of being Employee of the Month, Mr. Rolle was flown into New Providence, where he was hosted to a special breakfast, given a tour of the Distribution Centre where he had the opportunity to meet with his Nassau-based colleagues. They were able to show him what happens to the produce from the farm once it arrives in the capital and how it is stored for maximum preservation. Perhaps the best part of the day, Mr. Rolle was the guest of honour at an Awards Ceremony and luncheon at the Corporate Office. Executive Director of BAMSI and head of his department Dr. Raveenia Roberts Hanna acknowledged him as a star employee. He also received a number of special gifts and accolades, including a check, presented to him by Executive Secretary to the Chairman Beverly Smith.

Phillippa Whymns, Director of Human Resources, who was on hand for the ceremony and unveiling of the plaque, said, “the staff, management and executive team of BAMSI would like to take this opportunity to show appreciation to Mr. Rolle for his hard-work and commitment by recognizing him as BAMSI’S first ever Employee of the Month.

“We hope this grand occasion will encourage other staff members to continue to work with excellence. It is also our hope to see all of you in this position in the future.Thank you all for your continued cooperation and dedication in making BAMSI great.”

Mr. Rolle has resided in the beautiful, tranquil community of Nicholls Town, North Andros for his entire life.  He is the proud and jubilant father of two sons, 13-year-old Petetrae and 10-year-old Traeshawn Rolle.
