Our beautiful 800 acres campus is located in SAN ANDROS, North Andros, The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and houses the research demonstration farm, academic and residential buildings.

Our buildings provide the perfect learning environment and include, dorms, villas, cafeteria, lecture theatre, classroom clusters, laboratories, administration building, mechanic shop, farm office, packing house, distribution center and so much more!

Our research and demonstration farm reposes the indigenous hard wood and other tree species, a botanical trail, a bird sanctuary and facilities for leisure and nature-based activities. The farm acts as a germplasm bank reposing biodiversity of major species of economic agricultural crops and farm animals capable of commercialization in The Bahamas. It also provides opportunities and facilities for, practicum and applied research relating to plant and animal genetic resources by the various departments of the Institute while compliant with the standards and practices of the world food standards bodies.

The Aquaculture department has a modern 65,000 square feet Aquaponic facility for the production of fish, shrimp, high valued micro-greens and vegetables. The facility is used to train both students and potential entrepreneurs in the principles of integrated aquatic production systems.

Nurseries, shade houses and greenhouses are strewn along our campus keeping safe a variety of crops before planting in our rich bountiful fields.

Our livestock unit is the home of hundreds of small ruminants, notably sheep and goats and various nightfolds and feeding pastures that not only allow for saftey but for good quality meat.

Our Eggcademy poultry units showcase free range and laid fresh in The Bahamas layer program. Also on the farm is a state of the art piggery facility and an apiary. Our farm is buzzing with activities!

The Student Plot: There is acreage allocated for student training and use where their practical skills are honed, assessed and perfected. The products grown here are used in the cafe or locally sold.

Marine and Environmental Science Marine Field Station: Nestled in Stafford Creek Andros this facility supports our much sought after marine and environmental science programs. This is where the magic happens as students explore the falts, coral reef, and coastal expanse.

Outreach Programme: This is national in scope and it is the vehicle that brings the new technologies and practical information to farmers throughout The Bahamas. It is the mechanism that our Associated Farmer grouping was developed and comprises of  licensed farmers who produce vegetables according to BAMSI standards and technology; and under close guidance and supervision of our trained professional agricultural extension personnel.

BAMSI Extension Offices: The impact of BAMSI spans the entire country. We have offices and officers on New Providence at our Nassau office and Distribution Center, North and South Andros, Eleuthera, Long Island, and Cat Island....and coming to island near you!

BAMSI Agriculture and Marine Science Cadet Program: This is a new addition that cultivates the love, art and science of agriculture in our nations youth-the junior and senior high school children.  We work with schools that currently have an agriculture program, and the goal is to support the students with practical and academic skills and knowledge to succeed. Of course these students have priority in degree enrollment and other BAMSI activities.
